Karen Scofield Seal is CEO and Co-Founder of Juno Mara. She has led the development of the business since the founding of its predecessor, OCEANIUM, in 2018 and is now guiding its next chapter as a focused marine ingredient technology company.
Karen has more than 25 years’ experience in strategic planning, partnerships, brand building and marketing communications. She has worked with organisations including (RED), Comic Relief, the NFL and the USTA.
She has played a central role in developing the OCEANIUM technology platform and building its portfolio of science-backed marine ingredients for health, wellness and skincare.
At Juno Mara, Karen leads the company’s strategy, partnerships and commercial growth, driven by a belief in the potential of seaweed to support healthier people, healthier oceans and more sustainable livelihoods.

Dr. Sybille Buchwald-Werner
Transforms Science into Commercial Value
Dr. Sybille Buchwald-Werner is a Strategic Advisor and Co-Founder of Juno Mara and a globally recognised leader in the nutraceutical industry.
She brings more than 25 years’ experience spanning pharmaceutical science, branded ingredient innovation, governance and international commercialisation.
She founded Vital Solutions GmbH and scaled it into an internationally recognised ingredient business before its successful acquisition in 2023.
At Juno Mara, she combines deep scientific and commercial expertise to guide product and evidence strategy, strengthen the company’s partnerships and support the international growth of its technology and science-backed ingredient portfolio.

Business Development & Ops Director
Alex Harbinson
Builds Brands and Takes Products to Market
Alex Harbinson joined the OCEANIUM business in 2023 and is now Business Development and Operations Director at Juno Mara. She leads product management, commercial strategy and market development while overseeing the day-to-day operations that turn the company’s plans into delivery.
She brings extensive experience in advertising, communications, brand building and strategic development across South Africa, Italy and London. Her career includes work with Unilever and Brunswick Group, as well as leading communications for a national public-sector behaviour-change campaign. Alex is an On Purpose Fellow, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration.
At Juno Mara, she connects customer needs with the company’s technology and ingredient portfolio, developing relevant products, partnerships and routes to market, and helps ensure the business operates effectively as it grows.

Silvi Siddhu
Builds Global Markets and Drives Commercial Growth
Silvi Siddhu is a seasoned nutraceuticals professional with expertise across functional foods, beverages, and dietary supplements, with a career spanning innovation, R&D, new ingredient commercialization, and strategic business development. She is recognized for translating emerging science and consumer insights into commercially successful health solutions that help shape global industry trends.
With deep experience in innovation strategy and market-driven product development, Silvi brings a forward-looking perspective on the future of nutraceuticals, including evolving ingredient technologies, consumer health priorities, and global market opportunities.
She also serves as Chair of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, Ontario, and International Programming Co-Chair for Women in Nutraceuticals, where she champions industry advancement, global collaboration, mentorship, and inclusive leadership.

Bethany Robb
Shapes the Brand and Connects People to Purpose
Bethany Robb is Communications and Marketing Manager at Juno Mara. She brings more than 10 years’ experience in brand development, marketing, communications and business growth, with a particular focus on sustainability, impact, health, adventure and fitness.
Beth joined the OCEANIUM business in 2022 and now leads Juno Mara’s marketing and communications, helping shape and build the brand for its next stage of growth.
At Juno Mara, she translates the science, technology and benefits behind the company’s seaweed ingredients into clear, engaging stories for customers, partners and wider audiences. Her work supports brand development, commercial growth and expansion into new markets.
